SRA IT Staffing is seeking experienced HIS Trainers to support our healthcare client in the Niagara region. This role is critical to the successful implementation of a new Hospital Information System (HIS) scheduled to go live on November 9, 2024. The HIS Trainer will play a key role in ensuring that staff across multiple sites are well-prepared to use the new system effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver in-person HIS training sessions, including evenings and weekends, from September 16 to November 9, 2024.
- Work closely with the Training Manager, Training Specialists, and Oracle Health consultants to thoroughly understand the new HIS and associated workflows.
- Lead classroom instruction using adult learning principles tailored to Niagara Health's specific needs.
- Prepare, set up, and facilitate classroom environments for effective learning.
- Monitor training progress and report milestone achievements.
- Collect feedback from trainees and address concerns or questions as needed.
- Administer proficiency assessments and in-system checklists to ensure user competency.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Experience training on Cerner Millennium/Oracle Health, with expertise in at least two of the following areas:
- Inpatient and Ambulatory Nursing (including Kidney Care, Rehab)
- Emergency Nursing/FirstNet
- Physician Track
- Pharmacy/PharmNet
- Diagnostic Imaging/RadNet
- Laboratory/PathNet
- Oncology
- PeriOp (Novari ATC experience is a plus)
- Mental Health/Behavioral Health
- Registration & Scheduling
- Health Information Management (HIM)
- Ability to work onsite across four sites in the Niagara Region, including availability for evening and weekend sessions.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Adult Education, Instructional Design, Computer Science, or relevant clinical/business experience (e.g., Nurse Educator).
- Experience with large-scale multi-hospital EMR transitions is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel) and SharePoint.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and experience conducting needs or gap analyses.

- Willingness to travel regularly within the Niagara region.
