Position Overview:

SRA Staffing is seeking an experienced Usability/User Experience (UX) Specialist to support a large-scale IT Program within the Energy sector. The Specialist will lead and support a range of UX/UI initiatives, including strategy development, journey mapping, user research, and design implementation for corporate web and software applications.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with business and technical stakeholders to deliver user-centred, accessible, and visually effective digital solutions. Preference will be given to candidates who can work onsite; however, remote or hybrid arrangements may be considered.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:

  • Develop and execute a UX Approach & Strategy aligned with program objectives.

  • Analyze, design, and prototype new features for digital solutions.

  • Conduct Journey Mapping and develop detailed User Personas.

  • Facilitate UX Workshops to identify user needs and define solution scope.

  • Perform Heuristic Analysis and Usability Testing to ensure solutions meet user requirements.

  • Create and deliver Low & High-Fidelity Mockups, wireframes, and visual designs (Figma preferred).

  • Assist with front-end development activities and design handoffs.

  • Provide Industry Best Practices Design Advisory Services and incorporate corporate standards.

  • Ensure Accessibility Compliance (AODA, WCAG) in all designs.

  • Prepare UX deliverables including prototypes, wireframes, and technical documentation.

  • Participate in design reviews, stakeholder engagements, and iterative feedback sessions.

  • Support release control and manage UX/UI deliverables from concept to final product.

  • Complete additional UX-related tasks as assigned by the client program team.

Mandatory Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a UX Design Lead or User Experience Specialist in corporate software/web application environments.

  • Strong skills in User-Centred Design, Journey Mapping, and Heuristic Evaluations.

  • Hands-on expertise in Figma and other wireframing/prototyping tools.

  • Experience conducting in-person and virtual User Testing sessions.

  • Demonstrated experience with front-end design and development principles.

  • Familiarity with Accessibility Standards (AODA, WCAG).

  • Experience with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, etc.).

  • Knowledge of UX/UI guidelines for web, mobile (iOS/Android), and responsive platforms.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality solutions on time.

  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge of Agile development methodology.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in the Energy or Nuclear sector.

  • Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

  • UX/UI certification is an asset.

  • Experience with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript prototyping.

  • Demonstrated record of continuous improvement and process enhancement.
