    Senior Software Engineer – Investment Technology Platform

    New York, NY or Chicago, IL (Hybrid – 4 days onsite)

    Base Salary: $190,000 – $275,000 USD (role dependent)

    Performance Bonus Eligible

    About the Opportunity

    Our client is a global multi-strategy investment firm with a highly integrated technology and trading platform.

    Engineering teams support systems across the investment lifecycle, including trade processing, P&L reporting, risk analytics, and data platforms. These roles sit close to front- and middle-office stakeholders and have direct business impact.

    The firm continues to invest in senior engineering talent across multiple teams.

    Role Overview

    We are seeking experienced backend and full-stack engineers to join production-facing technology teams supporting critical financial systems.

    Depending on team placement, responsibilities may include:

  • Building and enhancing cross-asset P&L platforms

  • Developing trade processing and post-trade systems

  • Designing distributed backend services

  • Supporting financial reporting and subledger systems

  • Building scalable data pipelines and analytics platforms

  • These roles combine engineering depth with strong business interaction.

    What You'll Be Working With

  • C# / .NET Core

  • Python

  • React / TypeScript (select teams)

  • Kafka and event-driven architectures

  • SQL Server, Postgres, Snowflake

  • What We're Looking For

  • 5–10+ years enterprise software engineering experience

  • Strong backend development expertise

  • Experience building distributed, service-oriented systems

  • Multithreading and performance optimization experience (where applicable)

  • Strong SQL and database knowledge

  • Experience working in financial systems, capital markets, or trading environments preferred

  • Ability to communicate effectively with business stakeholders

  • Engineers from hedge funds, investment banks, trading firms, or fintech platforms are strongly encouraged to apply.

    Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary: $190K–$275K USD (depending on team and experience)
